Welcome

Kinesiology is one of Mississippi State University’s largest and most diverse programs. MSU-Meridian offers a Kinesiology degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology, a concentration of kinesiology that addresses a) the short-term biological responses to acute physical activity stress and b) how the body adapts to chronic bouts of physical activity stress. As such, students interested in educating themselves to work in the non-clinical (i.e. corporate fitness), clinical (i.e. rehabilitation, occupational and physical therapy settings), as well as prepare for professional schools such as Medicine (physicians and surgeons), Dental, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Chiropractic and Physician Assistant programs should strongly consider our program.

EXCELLENCE

We are committed to excellence as a departmental, programmatic, and personal standard that is reflected in the behavior and the products of faculty, staff, and students.

MISSION

The mission of the Kinesiology program at MSU-Meridian is to prepare aspiring professionals and emerging scholars for entry into clinical and non-clinical settings, pre-professional programs, conduct and disseminate research, and provide service in the health care settings.

VISION

Our vision is to achieve national recognition as a premier program for student preparation for professional health related programs, research production, and the promotion of health and fitness.
